Winter Torment
Blast me, Summer!
Skip the tweeting birds, ants and
Leave me a mosquito bite on my bare ass
I need humidity and sweat
Scorch this Winter!
Soften this earth and let me ground myself
The soles of my feet need to scratch away
The frost bite on the bark of a solid oak
Knock-back Spring!
The smudgy grey blanket of white
Liquefying into the unfortunate shit brown mud
Teasing buds heckling, tormenting, and too patient to bloom
Shatter Autumn!
Better still, don’t let it come at all
Copulating deer, fox, bear, skunk, weasel
Squirreling away nuts
Blast me, Summer!
I have had enough of the cold, bitter winter
The crystal talisman that loom on every branch
Give me my sunshine and return my soul
